Angels in America

By Tony Kushner

Directed by Chance Michaels

Angels in America is made up of two parts, Millennium Approaches and Perestroika, both of which won Tony Awards for best new play in 1992 and 1994, respectively. Millennium Approaches also won a Pulitzer Prize for drama in 1992. Arguably among the most important and entertaining plays of the twentieth century, Angels in America tackles a huge variety of themes-including AIDS, religion, race, assimilation, roots and rootlessness, American and personal histories, politics, the idea of progress, and the environment-all in a witty, poignant, and thoughtful manner.

First Banana plans to produce both plays in repertoire from the weekend of November 10th to the weekend of December 15th. The productions will be directed by Chance Michaels, who previously directed such First Banana Hits as Talk Radio, Tales of the Lost Formicans, Burn This, and History of the Devil. Angels Web Site
