The Thousandth Night
By Carol Wolf
Directed by Cathy Daly Bond
A humourous retelling of the most famous tales from the Arabians Nights classics combined with the unsettling story of a man in a desperate attempt to save his life.
The Thousandth Night premiered at the Grove Shakespeare Festival (as Monsier Shaherazad) in 1993, where it won an LA Circle Award and two Robbie Award nominations. The LA Times called it "an unusual piece of writing, with its flashes of ribald humor and its moments of bitterness, but at the end, its total effect is astonishing."
Produced by Millenium Theater at the William T. Evjue Theatre, in the Esquire Theater, 113 E. Mifflin, just off the Square.
