"Everyman" the Musical

By Taras Nahirniak and Scott Shaver (addition lyrics by Scott Rippe)

Directed by Taras Nahirniak

Based on an allegorical play written in the late 15th century, "Everyman" has be transformed into a two-act musical with contemporary themes. This musical story tells of one man's judgment day and his often frivolous attempts to satisfy a disappointed and angry God. The play conbines satire and humor to convey the essence of a greedy, self-absorbed businessman, his friends and family and their efforts to answer for his "crimes" against society. Written in a variety of musical styles from rock to pop, the musical addresses the question of finding the purpose of life and recognizing those who help along the way.

This is to be the first performance in Wisconsin following its premier in 1997 at the Memorial Union Theater. It was also performed in California a number of times. An entertaining and moving performance! Enjoy the show.
