Blitzkrieg 2: Electric Boogaloo

Directed by Buck Hakes (producer)

On July 14-15, 2000, a group of dedicated, ambitious, and (some would say) slightly insane theatre people came together to write, cast, direct, and produce 8 new plays, all within 24 hours. The result was "Project: Blitzkrieg," which sold out its one-night only engagement at the Bartell Theatre. Since then, the directors, writers, cast, and crew have all been itching to do it all again! And the audience clamored for more, too! So now, on January 27, 2001, you'll get to experience the magic, the craziness, the BUZZ all over again, with "BLITZKRIEG 2: ELECTRIC BOOGALOO!"

At 8pm on Friday, January 26, 2001, a group of writers will meet to be assigned random topics to write 8 new plays overnight. The following morning, the plays will be randomly assigned to directors who will have that Saturday to cast and direct them. Then, at 8pm Saturday night, January 27, 2001, the audience will be invited to the Drury Stage of the Bartell Theatre to see what they've come up with! Come see the show -- we promise it'll be a blast! We're taking the theatre by storm -- AGAIN.

Produced by Mercury Players at Drury Stage, Bartell Theatre (113 E. Mifflin Street)

Performances: January 27, 2001 at 8:00pm

Auditions

Actor auditions for "Blitzkrieg 2: Electric Boogaloo!" will be held from 7-9 pm on Monday, January 22, and Tuesday, January 23, 2001, in the lobby of the Bartell Theatre (formerly the Esquire), 113 E. Mifflin Street, Madison. Actors of all genders, ages, and experience levels are welcome.

No prepared material is necessary. This will be a very simple registration process: auditioning actors will simply fill out a form and have their pictures taken, for use by the Blitzkrieg writers and directors. Auditioners need not stay for the whole 2-hour time slot -- you may drop in at any time during the two time slots.

Actors must commit to an all-day rehearsal period starting at 10am on Saturday, January 27, 2001, with the performance to be held at 8pm that night. EVERYONE who shows up and commits to spending Saturday at the Bartell will be cast!
