All in the Timing

By David Ives

All in the Timing is a play that consists of five one-act comedies that combine wit, satire, intellect and just plain fun. The five one-acts are as follows:

The Sure Thing- A classic contemporary comedy where two people meet in a cafe and find their way through a conversational minefield via false starts, gaffes, and faux pas.

Words, Words, Words- A recollection of the philosophical adage that three monkeys typing into infinity will sooner or later produce Hamlet and asks the question: What would monkeys talk about at their typewriters?

The Universal Language - A woman with a stutter and the creator and teacher of a wild comic language, Unamunda come together in this scene. Their dazzling display of hysterical verbal pyrotechnics produce hilarious results.

The Philadelphia - A restaurant patron falls into a Twilight-Zone state called a Philadelphia where, hysterically, nothing is as it seems.

Variations on the Death of Trotsky - Here we see a Russian revolutionary on the day of his demise, desperately trying to cope with the mountain-climber's axe he's discovered in his head.
