Milwaukee Repertory Theater
One of the first regional theaters in the country, and one of the largest, Milwaukee Repertory Theater has been a strong artistic force for over six decades. We create world-class theater experiences for our audiences, and use education and civil engagement to bring diverse people together for healthy and respectful dialogue around important issues facing us today. Milwaukee Rep is a catalyst for positive change in our community.
Milwaukee Rep moved to its current home, the Patty and Jay Baker Theater Complex, across from Milwaukee's City Hall in 1987. A cleverly converted power plant, the complex houses three theaters. Considered Milwaukee Rep's mainstage, the Quadracci Powerhouse Theater seats 720 patrons. The Stiemke Studio is a black box featuring a flexible seating configuration for just over 200 audience members. The Stackner Cabaret is a full service restaurant and bar and presents smaller, mainly music-based pieces for audiences in its 118-seat theater. Together, these spaces provide Milwaukee Rep with a variety of staging options and allow us to offer our audiences a wide range of dramatic fare. The Patty and Jay Baker Theater Complex also houses the theater's rehearsal facilities, shops and administrative offices.
COVID-19 / Coronavirus Update
The safety and well-being of our patrons, artists and staff is our top priority. As of August 2021, we plan to be at full capacity in all 4 of our performance venues for the 2021/22 Season. Face coverings will be required for non-vaccinated patrons, including individuals and age groups unable to receive a vaccination. As local conditions might warrant, masks may be required for all attendees. All policies, including ticketing and attendance, are subject to change based on evolving guidance from the CDC, City of Milwaukee and the State of Wisconsin. Patrons will be informed prior to their performance date of the current safety protocols.
