Mark Twain's classic story comes to exuberant musical life in this Broadway adaptation of America's favorite book. The Adventures Of Tom Sawyer is the irresistible story of a fourteen-year-old boy growing up in the heartland of America. Tom matches wits with his stern Aunt Polly, falls in love with the beautiful, feisty Becky Thatcher, and goes on the adventure of his life with Becky and that irresistible renegade, Huckleberry Finn.

Auditions
Oregon Straw Hat Players will hold auditions for the musical "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" on May 30 and 31 at 7:00 pm in the band room of Oregon High School, 465 N Perry Parkway, Oregon. There are roles for at least 40 performers of all ages. Boys ages 11-14 are especially needed.
Auditioners should prepare a song of one minute or less in the style of the show, preferably from a musical. Suggestions for material include music from "Big River," "Shenandoah," and "The Robber Bridegroom." Selections from "Tom Sawyer" are acceptable. An accompanist will be provided. Auditioners should be prepared to move, and some may be asked to read from the script. Please plan on spending the evening.
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer has music by Grammy winner Don Schlitz ("The Gambler") and book by Ken Ludwig ("Crazy for You," "Lend Me a Tenor.")
