3/10/2023PILE OF CATS THEATRE COMPANY announces AUDITIONS for its Spring Production of THERE’S AN APP 4 THAT, a new two act contemporary satire, written by Ned O’Reilly, directed by Erskine Dahl, and presented as part of World Premiere Wisconsin, a statewide festival of locally-produced new plays.
Auditions are open to all, and will be held March 8, 9, and 10 from 6:30-8:30 pm at The Cheddar Room, 6410 Enterprise, 1st floor, on Madison’s west side. Be prepared for cold readings from the script.

ABOUT THE PLAY: A woman’s personal and work lives collide when she relies too much on apps to solve all her problems. The play is a satirical comedy, and includes strong themes of personal identity, isolation, over-reliance on electronic devices, codependency, and corporate intrigue. And cats.
CHARACTERS:
• DIDI 25-35, smart and ambitious in her work, but a mess in her personal life (lead role)
• ZEV 30, Mensa level smart, very private, very self-contained, nothing but kindness toward his friend, Didi (lead role)
• BECK 20-25, non-binary, Didi’s sometimes roommate, sometimes lover, very erratic, selfish, and oblivious (large supporting role)
• MARIAH 25-40, completely in control of her work and personal lives; has a secret agenda (large supporting role)
• ROD 30s, gone as far as he ever will professionally, cute, but clueless (supporting role)
• BEN 35-45, overworked, insensitive/desensitized project manager (supporting role)CONTENT: The play contains adult language and themes. The play does not include any nudity, violence, weapons, smoking, or substance use/abuse. We do, however, plan to use a microwave.
