The Last Week in December

By KelsyAnne Schoenhaar

Directed by Heather Renken and KelsyAnne Schoenhaar

Encore presents their first production of their 2016-2017 season, The Last Week in December written by KelsyAnne Schoenhaar. The Last Week in December is based during one of the most difficult times of year for many people: the week ranging from December 24th to January 1st. Last Week focuses on a young man (Julian) whose grandmother has died of cancer. As he was raised by her alone, and has lived with her his entire life, the transition is monumental but not for obvious reasons. He doesn’t seem to mourn for her and because of this, there is much frustration and confusion demonstrated by his friends and the people supporting him. With 2/3 comedy and 1/3 drama, The Last Week in December offers a unique perspective and pure entertainment based on the lives of people with disabilities.

Produced by Encore Studio for the Performing Arts at Mary Dupont Wahlers Theatre, 1480 Martin Street, Madison, WI 53713

Performances: December 2-17, 2017
