The Lamentable Tragedie of Scott Walker

By Doug Reed

Directed by Doug Reed

Tragic times call for tragic measures. There are dark deeds afoot under our Capitol dome. How do the people respond? Some carry signs in protest, and some sign petitions - and if you are a playwright, you write a play. Broom Street Theater is proud to present The Lamentable Tragedie of Scott Walker, written and directed by Doug Reed. Penned in a "Fakespearian" style, The Lamentable Tragedie of Scott Walker is an account of Wisconsin's recent political upheaval, complete with soliloquies, swordfights, and codpieces.

The Lamentable Tragedie of Scott Walker is brought to the Broom Street stage by a talented troupe of performers. Jake Penner, Jason Compton, Katherine Boomsma, Dylan Brogan, Nolan Veldey, Gemma Veldey, Elena Tabachnick, Ben Otto, Brandelynn Turner, Caitlin Robb, Ray Olderman, Betsy Wood, Ilsa Reed, Robin Delaquess, Collin Erickson, and Elizabeth Gokey make up this impressive cast.

To show our solidarity with working men and women across Wisconsin, we're doing two special promotional nights. August 20th is "Solidarity Saturday". Show a union card or state employee ID, and you can get one friend in for free. September 2nd is TGIF. "Thou Gettest In Free" - again, show a union card or state employee ID and get one friend in free with one full-price admission.

The Lamentable Tragedie of Scott Walker, written and directed by Doug Reed, opens on July 29th and runs until September 4th at 1119 Williamson St. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM and Sundays at 2 PM. Reserve your tickets at (608) 244-8338, or visit Bstonline.org and Facebook.com/BroomStreetTheater for more information.
