Talking Out of School: original short plays
By Wisconsin public school teachers
Directed by Montgomery Marsh
Public education has been under attack in Wisconsin, but in winter 2011 we saw it ramp up to an unprecedented degree. And there has been a lot of talk about public school teachers. They've been called everything from slackers to saints.
But very few non-teachers have a clue. We have no idea what really goes on in the classroom, because we don't get to see it. This production is a chance to hear from the teachers' mouths about what teaching is really like, and to peek into the secret world of public schools.
