Summer and Smoke
By Tennessee Williams
Directed by Norma Saldivar
In this sultry drama, Tennessee Williams explores the passion and pain of southern star-cross’d love. The drama explores the love story of Alma, a prim, idealistic preacher’s daughter, and John, a handsome, world-wise young doctor, in turn-of-the-century Mississippi. After one steamy summer, Alma and John face the heartbreaking realities of the world after an unlikely tragedy sends them both scrambling to figure out who they are, who they want to be, and how they will both move forward.
