Shifting Gears Bike Path Dance Festival 2022

Grab your bike, your scooter, roller skates, or just put on your favorite walking shoes! We're back for the second year of a new summer tradition in Madison, the Isthmus Dance collective brings you the Shifting Gears Bike Path Dance Festival with generous support from Dane Arts and the SASY Neighborhood Association.
Shifting Gears creates informal and temporary performance spaces in the park and green spaces along the fantastic bike paths in Madison: Wirth Court Park, McPike Park, the Olin Park Vantage, and new this year; Brittingham Park. So get a little exercise, enjoy the beautiful outdoors along the bike paths, and witness a stunning array of local dance groups with us. There will be plenty of interactive family friendly fun to be had for all!
This year will also feature some welcome audience amenities: porta potties and a few shade umbrellas. Feel free to bring your own small shade umbrellas, picnics and picnic blankets, sun screen, bug repellent, and any other goodies you might need to enjoy a full day of dance and the outdoors.
The full festival schedule will be announced soon - performing groups include:
Tania Tandias Flamenco & Spanish Dance, Scratch Dance, Swing State Aerial, Aubry Dalley, Amy Slater, Breckenridge Highland Dance, Katherine Kramer, Breakthrough Dance Company, Red Herrings, Sadira, Caitlyn Lamdin, Katy O'Leary and Laura Hayden, Xiaoli Wu, Studio Dansu, Malachi Squires, Piper Hayes, Wingspan Dance, and Kripa Baskaran.
If you would like to make a (much appreciated) donation to help this festival flourish, you can do so here:
We will also be looking for volunteers for the day of the festival. Check out the google form for ways you can volunteer and support the second annual Shifting Gears Bike Path Festival.
