​This documentary theatre piece recounts the history of Japanese Americans forcibly removed from the West Coast, and incarcerated in concentration camps across the United States. Using the interviews, transcripts and testimonials of Japanese American and non-Japanese American women, real stories from World War II and its aftermath are recalled, including the “loyalty questionnaire” of the play’s title.

Auditions

Auditions will be held on the following days:

All of the roles are historical figures. There is a main cast of 4 women; 3 who recreate Japanese American women of a variety of ages 20s-70s (named as “Tamlyn”, “Dian”, and “Emily” in the script) and 1 who recreates various Caucasian women 40s-70s (named as “Shannon” in the script). One additional performer may be cast for prerecorded segments. A small stipend is available for all performers.

Please be prepared to read from the script, as well as additional activities. If you have a contemporary monologue prepared, we may ask to hear it.
Resumes are encouraged. Headshots are not required.
Please be prepared to provide all conflicts from January 19th – February 22nd.
