Oklahoma!

By Rodgers and Hammerstein

Directed by Christa Stowers

Rodgers and Hammerstein’s award-winning Broadway classic features a sweeping love story set against the American prairie. Infused with energetic, breath-taking dancing and some of the most classic songs of all time: “Oh What a Beautiful Mornin’,” “I cain’t Say No,” “People Will Say We’re in Love” among many others.

A couple of young cowboys win the hearts of their sweethearts in the Oklahoma territory at the turn of the century, despite the interference of an evil ranch hand and a roaming peddler.

Laurey Williams is an Oklahoma farm gal who is courted by boisterous cowboy Curly Mclain and by menacing, obsessive farm hand Jud Fry. In order to make Curly jealous, Laurey accepts an invitation to the box social from Jud. Curly rescues Laurey from Jud’s unwanted advances. This eventually leads to Curly’s arrest and trial. Woven into this plot is the story of Ado Annie who finds it hard to say “no” to a traveling peddler while her boyfriend Will Parker is in Kansas City.

Does Curly end up in Jail for murder? Does Ado Annie give Will “all or nuthin” or does she run away with the peddler?

Set against the backdrop of ranching Oklahoma, this musical is full of excitement, fun, music and romance for everyone.
