MY FAIR LADY

Henry Higgins, a Professor of Phonetics, encounters Eliza Doolittle, a cockney flower girl, one cold March night at Covent Garden market. He declares to his friend, Colonel Pickering, that in three months he can transform Eliza into a duchess. Over the course of several months Eliza, who moves into the Higgins household, is put through a grueling course of phonetics and elocution lessons by Higgins. Eliza's big reveal comes at the Embassy Ball. She is beautiful, elegant and well-spoken. Eliza proves to be an enormous success particularly with the young gentleman Freddy Eynsford-Hill.

Theatre Unlimited, Inc. will be holding open auditions for the classical and beloved musical MY FAIR LADY. MY FAIR LADY will be produced at the Janesville Performing Arts Center September 16th through September 24th. Those auditioning should be prepared to sing 32 bars of a song which reflects range and from a classic Broadway musical. Bring sheet music for the accompanist provided. You may be asked to do a cold reading and short choreography.
Auditions will be held at Theatre Unlimited’s rehearsal hall at First Congregational UCC, 54 South Jackson Street, Janesville – come to the side entrance down into the basement
