Metamorphoses
By Mary Zimmerman
Directed by Jeanne Leep
Based on the Myths of Ovid
Written and originally directed by Mary ZimmermanMary Zimmerman's Metamorphoses brings Ovid's tales to stunning visual life. Set in and around a large pool of water onstage, Metamorphoses juxtaposes ancient Greek myths and a contemporary sensibility in both language and image to explore the human condition. From venture capitalist Midas to undying lovers Baucis and Philemon, Zimmerman explores time-honored tales in a fresh new setting, highlighting their relevance to our world today.
