The Laramie Project

By Moisés Kaufman & the Tectonic Theater Company

Directed by Stephen Montagna

The Laramie Project examines a town's reaction to violence and hatred in their midst. The brutal slaying of Matthew Shepard, a young man killed because he was gay, causes the town to reflect, react, and confront their own belief systems as they interact members of the Tectonic Theater Company in NYC. Culled from actual interviews with the people of Laramie, WY, in the wake of this horrible tragedy in 1998, Moisés Kaufman's powerful play resonates in this community and this nation today.
