Elf the Musical
By Thomas Meehan and Bob Martin
Directed by Dave Timm
The Community Players are hoping to brighten this Christmas season by presenting “Elf the Musical.” Audiences will be familiar with the 2003 movie “Elf” which starred Will Ferrell. “Elf the Musical” is a retelling of that same story set to music.
The show is a razzle-dazzle Broadway-style production that will be sure to please audiences and fill them with Christmas cheer! It stars Buddy, who mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. He is raised unaware that he is actually a human until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. Buddy then embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. His unique gifts and bright disposition revive a city that’s lost the Christmas spirit!
Show dates are December 1, 2, 3, 8, 9 and 10 and will hit the stage of the Coppertop Theater at the former UW-Richland. Anyone with questions or who wants to help can contact the Community Players at communityplayersswwi@gmail.com
