ELF - The Musical

Book by Tony Award winners Thomas Meehan and Bob Martin, with music by Tony Award nominees Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin

Directed by Patt Dischler; Musical Direction by Ann Meyer

The Stoughton Village Players brings to the stage the theatrical adaptation, Elf-The Musical. The group is excited to feature this comical stage adaptation of the film of the same name, unarguably now a modern-day Christmas classic.

Based on the 2003 New Line Cinema holiday hit adored by critics and audiences alike, this hilarious fish-out-of-water comedy follows Buddy the Elf in his quest to find out where he fits in. A tale both absurd, clever... and utterly charming. Elf-The Musical is the delightful story of Buddy, a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa's sack of presents on Christmas Eve and ends up back at the North Pole and then raised as an elf. Although unaware he's actually human, Buddy's enormous size and poor toy-making skills eventually lead him to the truth. With Santa's encouragement, Buddy embarks on an epic journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Faced with the harsh realities that his father is on the naughty list and his stepbrother doesn't even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help NYC remember the true meaning of Christmas. Along the way, he discovers friendship, romance, and where he belongs.

It's a funny, heartwarming delight for all to enjoy that is sure to make everyone discover a bit of their own inner self. After all, the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.

Also, please consider bringing a household toiletry item or two for our Christmas basket. All donations will be given to the Personal Essentials Pantry Stoughton.
