Disney's The Little Mermaid

By Alan Menken and Doug Wright

Directed by Colin Swanson

Disney's The Little Mermaid is a stage musical based on Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale and Disney's 1989 animated film of the same name. The musical tells the story of Ariel, King Triton's youngest daughter, who longs to leave her underwater home and live on land. Ariel falls in love with Prince Eric after rescuing him from a storm, and makes a deal with her aunt, the sea witch Ursula, to trade her voice for legs so she can become human. Ariel has three days to make Eric fall in love with her and kiss her. With the help of her friends Flounder, Scuttle, and Sebastian, Ariel must also restore order under the sea.
