Cinderella

Directed by W. Earle Smith, Artistic Director

In March, Madison Ballet will celebrate an early spring with a cast of butterflies, bumble bees, violets, and one very special pumpkin in its encore presentation of Cinderella. Madison Ballet debuted this most enduring of story ballets on the Overture Stage in 2005 to spellbound and sold out audiences. It is at once art and fairy tale with vibrant, athletic choreography that tells the beloved story of the transforming power of inner beauty and kindness. Exquisite costumes commissioned by noted Native American prima ballerina Maria Tallchief and designed by Barbara Karinska draw audiences into a world shaped by the music of Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev, as performed by the Madison Symphony Orchestra.

Produced by Madison Ballet at the Overture Center
