The British are Coming!

Directed by Mary Ann Williams

The Beaver Dam Area Community Theatre will present its own band and vocalist concert of Beatles-and-other-Brits music. This new STAGE II show featuring BDACT performers will begin the theatre's celebration of its fortieth anniversary year with songs from the Beatles, the Who, Elton John, Andrew Lloyd Webber, The Moody Blues, Queen, The Rolling Stones, The Seekers, and Tony Hatch. Mary Ann Williams, director and creator of this unique evening of popular music from British stars, says the show was inspired by the success of last year's BDACT STAGE II show, featuring the music of Andrew Lloyd Webber. "We turned people away at the box office for that show, so we thought our audience wanted more! That's why we decided to offer two shows for this new program." As master of ceremonies for the The British are Coming! show, Tom Castillo will highlight the history of the Beatles as well as the other British groups that have been so successful throughout the world for the past forty years.

BDACT offers several STAGE II shows -- a variety of short run shows and programs at the low cost of $5.00 per ticket -- between its major season shows. The theater's president, Roxi Braker, says, "This is another way that we offer something for everyone -- for our audience and for our performers. We see this as an opportunity to expand our offerings for the benefit of the theater and for our area communities and we’re working on bringing in several more great STAGE II evenings during our fortieth birthday year."
