Working
Adapted by Stephen Schwartz from Studs Terkel's Pulitzer-prize winning book
Directed by Chris Jansen
"Working" paints a picture through monologue and song of the lives of working class America. Excerpted directly from Terkel's book of interviews, the musical chronicles the hopes, dreams and accomplishments of everyday folks against a backdrop of the frustrating, disappointing and often demeaning 9 to 5 workday. Moving, insightful and funny, "Working" features a wide range of musical styles with songs written by Schwartz, James Taylor and many other gifted song-writers. It is the "A, My Name is Alice" for the working class put in their very own words.
Presented by Beaver Dam Community Theatre at the modern 600 seat high school theatre auditorium.
