The Wiz

Directed by Gregory Brumfield & Kjersti Johanson

"The Wiz" was inspired by the "The Wizard of Oz" written by L. Frank Baum. The musical includes a jazzy rock score and dialogue that brings this fairy tale down to earth for modern audiences. You'll find yourself tapping your toes, snapping your fingers, and humming along with such favorite songs as "Ease on Down the Road", "Slide Some Oil to Me" and "Don't Nobody Bring Me No Bad News."

Thirty five young people ages 10 and older will perform "The Wiz" under the direction of Gregory Brumfield and Kjersti Johanson with choreography by Jenee Christoferson and Brandon Rice. The cast includes Abby Kneebone as Dorothy, Miguel McQuade as the Scarecrow, Matt Potter as the Tinman, Alex Ugoretez as the Lion and Hal Edmonson as the Wiz! Art for the production includes giant puppets and urban structures created by the cast under the direction of Kelsey Sauber Olds, a local artist.
