Lend Me a Tenor

By Ken Kudwig

Directed by Dre Robinson

This rib-tickling comedy by Ken Ludwig was a sensation on Broadway and in London, and is guaranteed to have audiences teary-eyed from laughing. World-famous tenor, Tito Merelli, arrives too late to rehearse for his role as Otello at the Cleveland Grand Opera, the centerpiece of the most important fundraiser in its 1934 season. Il Stupendo suddenly passes out from an unwise dose of relaxation aids, and hilarious panic ensues! What happens next is pure fun -- an assistant singing the role, two moonstruck women pursuing the costumed "star," and a hotel staff trying to make sense of it all! Mistaken identities, heroic impersonations, amorous interludes and twists and turns follow in this hilarious farce.
