Guys and Dolls

Music & Lyrics by Frank Loesser, Book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows

This fun and lively oddball romantic comedy - considered by many to be the perfect musical comedy - soars with the spirit of Broadway as it introduces you to a cast of vivid characters who have become legends in the genre. Desperate to find money to pay for his floating crap game, Nathan Detroit makes a bet with Sky Masterson, the slick high-rolling gambler, that Sky will not be able to woo the upright-but-uptight Salvation Army "mission doll," Sarah Brown, to Cuba. While Sky eventually is able to convince Sarah to join him, Nathan battles with Adelaide, his fiance of fourteen years. Sky is shocked to discover he has fallen in love with Sarah, and when he returns to New York, he bets all the members of the floating crap game that if he wins his roll of the dice, they will all have to go to the mission. If he loses, he will give them each a thousand dollars! Featuring well-known Broadway classics songs like "I've Never Been in Love Before," "Luck be a Lady," and "Sit Down, You're Rockin' the Boat," Guys and Dolls is sure to thrill and entertain audiences of any age.
