The Hobbit

Performances will be at Memorial High School Auditorium, 201 South Gammon Road. Tickets are $5 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under. All seating is general admission. Tickets will be available at the door. Group discounts are available by calling 831-0744.

Artistic staff

The Artistic Director of the production is Patty Laine who has directed MadCAP productions since November of 1996. She has more than 18 years of experience in theatre as a director, actress, choreographer and teacher.

The Musical Director is Darlene Harper. Darlene was musical director for CAMP MadCAP's production of The Twelve Dancing Princesses in 1997.

Joan McCarthy is working with campers to create the dragon as well as paint sets and create masks and costumes.

The Cast

The cast of the Hobbit includes 38 young people from Madison and the surrounding communities. In addition to rehearsing and performing the musical production, campers are creating fantastical sets and costumes that will bring to life the world of the thirteen dwarves and Bilbo as they set out to reclaim their gold from the giant dragon. Smaug, the giant dragon will also be created and manipulated by campers. The dragon will be over 40 feet long and manipulated by five puppeteers hidden inside.
