Under the GaslightBy Augustin Daly
Directed by Karen Ryker
An 1867 melodrama presented in a cabaret setting. The lovely, spirited Laura Cortland's engagement to rich Ray Trafford is disrupted by the evil Byke. In her search for the truth about her birth, Laura is exposed to the wolves of society and the rough street folk of the city. She is thrown into the river, the hero is tied to the railroad tracks, and there are many more near-brushes with catastrophe. Come hiss the villain, cheer for the lovers, and enjoy drinks and snacks and the song and dance specialty acts in our always-popular cabaret setting.
