Wrong for the Part 2013

By all playwrights great and small

Directed by Jan Levine Thal

She's always wanted to play Hamlet. He hankers to be Blanche Dubois. They're no longer ingénues but want to do that famous love scene or they're still young but find Linda & Willy Loman intriguing . . . Well, now’s their chance!

Inspired by Music Theater of Madison's "Miscast," The Kathie Rasmussen Women's Theatre (Krass) presents the second year of its fabulously popular "Wrong for the Part," featuring skilled area actors in monologues and scenes that no director would ever sanction. But you will. Come laugh, love, be moved, and donate to Madison's only theater whose mission is to promote women playwrights and directors.

Parental guidance suggested. Some material may be sexually suggestive.

Produced by Kathie Rasmussen Women's Theatre at Broom Street Theater, 1119 Williamson Street, Madison

Performances: Sunday, July 28, 2013

Auditions

Auditions will be held on the following days:

6/17/2013
6/18/2013

Actors wanted for two-time (one evening) performance of a role they'd never get cast to play. Men play women, women play men, old play young, etc. Individuals can play multiple roles. You choose that role(s) you always secretly wanted. Have fun with it!

Now for the tough talk: We plan a program NO LONGER THAN 75 minutes, no intermission. Monologues 3-4 minutes, scenes 6-8 minutes – no exceptions.

Audition Requirements:
• 7pm either June 17 or June 18.
• Material does not have to be memorized by the time of auditions but you must be comfortable enough with it that we can accurately time the pieces.
* Costumes you provide or none.
• Props you provide or none.
• Set consists of chairs. No exceptions.
• General theatrical lighting, no specials.
• No sound effects that can't be made by other actors.

Rehearsal: One rehearsal, TBA. Come to auditions with an accurate conflicts schedule for the months of June and July.

Performance: Call time for ALL ACTORS is 5pm on the night of performance, Sunday, July 28.

Where: Auditions are at the Bartell Theater, Evjue stage

When: Monday and Tuesday June 17 and 18 at 7pm.

Gratis: Although Krass policy is at least token pay for actors and techs, in this case nobody will be paid because it's a fundraiser.
