The Snow Queen

By Hans Christian Andersen

Directed by Renaye Leach

PlayTime Productions performs a unique rendition of The Snow Queen. The play will be performed at 17 Dane County venues this fall (see schedule below) at a low cost for the entire family. A donation of $3 or less per person is suggested at most venues.

The Snow Queen follows our young heroine Gerda on a quest to rescue her best friend Kai from the mysterious Snow Queen’s clutches. A band of goblins has released a magic mirror into the world, and anyone unlucky enough to get a shard caught in his or her eye sees the whole world as ugly. This fate befalls Kai while he is playing during the first snowfall of the year. When the Snow Queen whisks him away to her frozen palace, Gerda leaves her doting grandfather behind and ventures out into the world to track him down. On her journey, she will encounter a talking crow, a princess, the four winds, the elements and more! Can she find Kai before it’s too late?
