The Red Shoes

By Hans Christian Andersen

Directed by Renaye Leach

The Hans Christian Andersen story of “The Red Shoes” is the inspiration for the spring musical production by PlayTime Productions. The touring children’s theatre troupe will bring to life a revised version of the tale with an hour-long play that includes original lyrics and an updated script with a surprise ending. Thanks to guest choreographers, “The Red Shoes” will take the cast and audience on a dancing tour of world cultures. Beyond the dancing, children will laugh at the antics of the clowns, Mimm and Mumm, meet the mysterious Madame Pandora, and learn the price the heroine, Kaaren, must pay for wearing the beautiful red shoes.
