This classic comedy play opens as a group of guys assemble for cards in the apartment of divorced Oscar Madison. And if the mess is any indication, it's no wonder that his wife left him. Late to arrive is Felix Unger, who has just been separated from his wife. Depressed and tense, Felix seems suicidal, but as the action unfolds, Oscar becomes the one with murder on his mind when the clean freak and the slob ultimately decide to room together with hilarious results as THE ODD COUPLE is born. The movie version starred the comedy duo of Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon. The popular 70s sitcom based on the play starred Jack Klugman and Tony Randall. Today a new version of THE ODD COUPLE is airing on CBS and starring Matthew Perry and Thomas Lennon.

Oscar Madison: Oscar is a recently divorced sportswriter and living on his own. He is a slob and untidy with little care for tending to his surroundings, which is a large and very nice 8 room apartment in the upper "eighties" of New York. He has relaxed into his environment, and hosts rowdy poker nights and is generous with his apartment and with his friends.

Felix Unger: A hypochondriac news writer for CBS whose marriage is ending. Felix is well dressed, loves to spend time in the kitchen, everything has its place, the kind of person who would run around cleaning ashtrays after each cigarette. He’s also very emotional with a list of maladies: sinus problems, back problems, emotional problem, etc. Since he is having significant marital problems Oscar has invited him to live with him for a while until he gets things sorted out, but their relationship is oil and water.

Murray: An NYPD policeman, one of Oscar and Felix's poker buddies.

Vinnie: One of the poker buddies. Vinnie is mild-mannered, making him an easy target for Speed's verbal barbs.

Speed: One of the poker buddies. Gruff and sarcastic, often picking on Vinnie and Murray.

Roy: One of the poker buddies. Oscar's accountant. Roy has a dry wit but is less cutting than Speed.

Cecily and Gwendolyn Pigeon: Oscar and Felix's upstairs neighbors, a pair of sweet, giggly, and quick to laugh British sisters. The former is a divorcée, the latter a widow.

Performances for THE ODD COUPLE will take place on
