The play explores reactions to the 1998 murder of Mathew Shepard, a gay University of Wyoming student. Based on hundreds of interviews and media reports, this powerful documentary theater project was created by the Tectonic Theater Company.

Auditions for Beaver Dam Area Community Theatre’s production of “The Laramie Project” are Aug. 18 and 19, 6:30 PM at the BDACT Fine Arts Center, 117 W. Maple Ave., Beaver Dam, WI. Cast requires 4 men and 4 women, age range - 20 to 60. Auditions include a one-minute memorized dramatic monologue (your choice) and 2 monologues read from script (contains strong language and adult content). The play explores reactions to the 1998 murder of Mathew Shepard, a gay University of Wyoming student. Based on hundreds of interviews and media reports, this powerful documentary theater project was created by the Tectonic Theater Company. Actors will play multiple roles. Rehearsals begin Aug. 26.
