The Lady from the Sea

By Ibsen, adapted by Pam Gems

Directed by Jeremy Thomas Poulsen

The stranger’s return was Ellida’s worst fear. After a mysterious lost love resurfaces, Ellida Wangel, a young wife in the midst of marital turmoil, struggles to act “of her own free will” when faced with the choice between her family and her heart. Ibsen’s psychological drama explores the plight of nineteenth century women through Ellida’s difficult dilemma.
