Taste Traditions of Wisconsin: Sons of the Prophet with Forward Theater Company

By Stephen Karam

Forward Theater Company will open its 2013-14 season with the Wisconsin premiere of "Sons of the Prophet" by acclaimed playwright Stephen Karam. A dark comedy about one family's ability to withstand a hailstorm of misfortunes, the play's main character is a distant relative of Lebanese-American poet Khalil Gibran, author of "The Prophet." To complement the production, Verse Wisconsin invited Madison-area writers to create original poetry in response to the play's source material and subject matter. Get a taste of Forward Theater Company's opening production and hear the poetry it inspired through readings and short scenes. An autumnal dinner will accompany the performance.
