VAHS Theatre Arts will present Rumors on March 19-22, 2009 in the VAHS Performing Arts Center.

RUMORS was written by Neil Simon. It takes place in upper Manhattan at the home of Charley and Myra Brock. The Brock's are holding a party to celebrate their 10th Wedding Anniversary. However, the first guests to arrive at the home, Ken and Chris Gorman, hear a gun shot. They find Charley upstairs bleeding from the head. Myra and the servants are missing, and a bunch of frozen and half-thawed food is discovered unprepared in the kitchen. Comic complications arise when, given everyone's upper class status, they decide they need to do everything possible to conceal the evening's events from the local police and the media. Neil Simon said that Rumors was the hardest play he had to write because every line had to further the plot. The play has become a popular choice for production since it’s premier in New York in November of 1988. Audience members should be aware that they play does contain some mild profanity and adult language.

The VAHS Theatre production will feature a talented cast of veteran performers and new faces to the VAHS stage. Two separate casts have been assembled for the production The casts include Mary Ann Raemisch and Persephone Caulkins (Chris Gorman), John Lyell and Dan Kitson (Ken Gorman), Amy Maxon and Jade Pekol (Claire Ganz), Zack Eskrich and Jacob Turner (Lenny Ganz), Kristin Lucas and Alyssa Dvorak ( Cookie Cusack), Mike Gold and Aidan Head (Ernie Cusack),Liz Schultz and Torrie Hansen (Cassie Cooper), Michael Doing and Elliot Zink (Glenn Cooper), Nick Murphy and Danny Halminiak (Officer Welch), Jenny Noyes and Sarah Kroth (Officer Pudney). Heath Ugoretz will stage manage the production and Sarah Kessler will be the rehearsal assistant.
