Mythical Proportions - A Benefit for Mercury Players - Starring Nora Dunn

By Nora Dunn

Nora Dunn former “Saturday Night Live” cast member has recently created a one-woman theatrical experience. The performance combines character sketches and storytelling and interweaves them into a comedic evening of entertainment. Nora will be taking her “Mythical Proportions” to an LA venue later this year, but before doing so, has graciously agreed to bring her captivating creation to Madison audiences as a benefit show for Mercury Players Theater Company.

Mercury Players Theater Company began in 1994 and quickly became one of the city’s most acclaimed theater troupes. Mercury has given 16 seasons of theatrical experience and art to the local community over the last 17 years. However as the 17th season approaches and funding for the arts are being slashed, Mercury finds itself needing the support of Madison, NOW more than ever. If Mercury is to continue nurturing new artists, producing exceptional works of art and enriching the lives of all those involved both as volunteers and patrons – then we are going to need HELP. Though we’re not down-right asking for a hand out – we are asking for you to come out to our Benefit Show, courtesy of Nora Dunn. Support us, support the art, support theater and support this community organization that touches hundreds of lives each year. It will be a night you won’t soon forget- not only because you’re helping keep art affordable and present in our city, but because you’ll also get to see this incredible new show that people will be talking about for years to come.

This will be one weekend only with a Q&A and reception after each performance.
