Man of La Mancha

By Dale Wasserman

Directed by Andrew Sharp

Community Players of Southwest Wisconsin pleased to announce their 2009 summer show Man of La Mancha. Directed by Andrew Sharp with Music Director Peggy Veith, the show, winner of five Tony Awards including Best Musical, never fails to enchant audiences with its lyrical and musical mastery. The epic story of knight-errant Don Quixote, his servant Sancho and the woman of his dreams come to life in this breathtaking production. Set in the Spanish Inquisition, the tale tells of the knight who embarks on a romantic and noble journey to win the heart of a good woman and capture “The Impossible Dream.” Written by Wisconsin author Dale Wasserman, with music by Mitch Leigh and lyrics by Joe Darion, Man of La Mancha has been deemed as one of the all-time great musicals of the American stage.

If Man of La Mancha is considered musical theatre magic, then there couldn’t be a better local magician’s pair than Andrew Sharp and Peggy Veith. Coming off their magical production of West Side Story in 2007, Andrew and Peggy are ready to work their magic again.
