Return to the golden age of the 1940s and the famous Jazz club “Chez Mort.” “Ingenue ‘Sweet Sue’ Blutowsky was mysteriously and fatally cut short during her debut singing performance. Inspector Constantine was quick on the scene to investigate the strange circumstances surrounding the shocking events.” Journey back in time and join the good inspector on that dark and rainy evening.

JEAN -PAUL TRUFFAUT - Host and Nightclub manager, a Frenchman with a thick accent, is sometimes slow to understand what is happening around him. Can be played by a male or female.
MACK - Street-wise Stage Manager. Typical 1940's hard-boiled, no-nonsense guy.
Lady LELU - glamorous nightclub singer. Has a bit of a hard shell under her beauty.
"BIG SUIT" STU - sharp -dressed gangster; his bark is much worse than his bite
BODYGUARD - Speaks with Russian and German accents. A man (or woman) of few words.
SWEET SUE - Ditsy girlfriend of Big Suit Stu. Dreams of being a star, but has no talent.
CHIEF INSPECTOR CONSTANTINE - Police inspector; confused, unkempt and shabby.
SMITTY - newspaper reporter
For all roles, we need actors with good comic timing; these characters are all stereotypes to the point of being caricatures.
Actors will be asked to read a variety of sides.
Actors will be asked to note schedule conflicts during the rehearsal period.
Talk about dying on stage! the famous nightclub Chez Mort is the scene of an unusual crime. Inspector Constantine is quick on the scene. Was it gangster Big Suit Stu? His bodyguard? What about the bodyguard? What about the nightclub's MC or stage manager? Journey back in to the 1940's and join the good inspector on that fateful evening and find out for yourself.
Rehearsals: October 18 through November 15. In Sheboygan Oct 18 - Nov. 9, three-four nights per week. Rehearse at Memories Nov 12 - 15,three hours each night.
Performance dates: Friday, November 16 (evening), Saturday November 17 (matinee & evening) All Actors must be available for all three performances
