Jitney

By August Wilson

Directed by Andre' Lee Ellis

1970's when taxicab drivers would not go into the black neighborhoods for passengers, black men in those areas would rent a storefront space and place a telephone, desk and chairs inside and provide a Jitney service for the community. Interesting what would unfold on a daily basis and how vitally important this service was for the people.
