A Christmas Carol

By p. m. strain (adapted from Charles Dickens)

Directed by Patrick M. Strain

Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" brings the classic tale of Ebenezer Scrooge to the stage. Adapted by Patrick M. Strain and company at the Portage Center for the Arts, and enhanced with Christmas music, our production starts and ends close to home. The heart of the play, however, is all Dickens; from "Marley was dead" to "God bless us, every one." From heartless old curmudgeon, to melancholy philosopher to inspired romantic, the transformation of Scrooge will leave your heart warmed and your spirit lifted. In the words of Dickens' preface, we have endeavored in this Ghostly little play, to raise the Ghost of an Idea. May it haunt your houses pleasantly.
