Jumptown is dedicated to promoting Swing Era dancing at the University of Wisconsin. Jumptown was founded in order to provide dances, classes, workshops and resources for those interested in learning more about authentic Swing Era dancing.

Why Swing?

Our favorite brand of swing dance, the Lindy Hop, is a versatile dance ranging from highly athletic to smooth and sexy, depending on the music and your mood. Developed in Harlem, its rebel roots give it just the kick to distinguish it from the ballroom dances. Its flexibility allows for all types of people to experiment with a wide array of self-expression and truly develop their own style.
